Privacy

Ted Allen’s Jewellery runs this website. This page explains what the site collects when you visit or get in touch, and what happens to it.

  1. When you get in touch

If you use the consultation form, you send us your name, your email address, your phone number if you add it, the kind of piece you have in mind, whether you have gold or stones of your own to use, and your message. It comes to the shop by email so we can reply. Formspree delivers the form and keeps a copy of each message in its records.

We use your details only to answer you and to plan your piece. We never sell them, and we never add you to a mailing list without asking. If you phone or email us instead, the same goes.

  2. Visitor numbers

We count visits so we know which parts of the site are useful. The counts come from Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn’t identify you. For each visit it records the page, the site you came from, your general location (country, region and city), and your type of device and browser. It tells one visitor from another with a code that is thrown away after 24 hours, so nothing links your visits over time. We only ever see the totals, and they’re kept for up to a year.

  3. Cookies

This site doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies. Its fonts and photographs are served from the site itself, and the links to Google Maps, Facebook and Instagram are only links: nothing from those sites loads until you follow one, and each has its own privacy policy.

  4. Where the site runs

The site is hosted on Vercel by OBdesign, the Salt Spring and Victoria web studio that built it. Neither of us sells or shares your information.

  5. Your information

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Just email tedallensjewellery@gmail.com or call (250) 352-5033.
