What services do you offer in-store?

We are pleased to offer the following services in-store: jewellery cleaning, custom designs, appraisals, jewellery repair work, watch and clock repair work, watch purchase incentives, buying gold, ring sizing, engraving, and more!

Do you offer financing for purchases?

At this time financing is not available in house, but you’ll be the first to know when it is! Currently we can offer our clients extremely fair layaway options and, occasionally, purchase deals. Chat with us on the phone or in store to discuss your situation and we would be pleased to offer some suggestions.

Will my online purchase arrive giftwrapped?

We do not giftwrap online purchases without buyer say-so. This is so that you, the purchaser, are able to examine the quality of the item before committing to it. If an examination on arrival is not a concern of yours, feel free to check the “giftwrap box” option at time of purchase and we would be pleased to wrap your gift before it arrives.

Are prices subject to change?

Yes. Prices online and in-store are always subject to change, and unfortunately, this can sometimes occur without notice. This is usually based on supplier increases that may occur from time to time. When possible, we will always do our best to inform our clients of this in advance.

How do I care for my jewellery?

This is a great question, and unfortunately, one with many variables! How you can best care for your jewellery will depend on what type of jewellery you are in possession of. You may find it helpful to review our blog section for some safe and effective cleaning and maintenance tips, but the best approach to caring for your jewellery is to ask the professionals. How long has Ted Allen’s Jewellery been in business?

We’re proud to say that Ted Allen’s Jewellery has been in business since 1962, though the location that we use has housed a jewellery store for over 100 years. With years and years of experience behind our name and location clients can feel confident in the professionalism and quality of craftsmanship seen at Ted Allen’s Jewellery.

Where is my nearest location?

The only location currently in operation is our founding location in beautiful, Nelson, B.C.

How can I provide feedback?

At Ted Allen’s Jewellery we are always striving to improve our customer service, and your experience. As such, your feedback is incredibly important to us. We welcome feedback in the form of emails, in person, or by phone. Feel free to reach out to us through your preferred method today.

Can I include a personalized gift message with my online purchase?

Absolutely! If you’d like to include a note with your gift simply enter your instructions in the special instructions box at time of purchase.

Can I use a gift card online?

Yes, you can use a gift card to make your purchase online. However, gift cards can only be purchased in-store at our Nelson, B.C. location.

Do you have Canadian diamonds?

Of course! Canadian mined diamonds make up the majority of our collection, and we’re extremely proud of them.

Does Ted Allen’s sell conflict diamonds?

Absolutely not. It’s extremely important to us at Ted Allen’s Jewellery that all of the diamonds in our collection are guaranteed conflict free. Feel free to ask our associates in store about where our diamonds come from and how you can do your part to ensure the diamonds you buy are not from cruelty.

When do you get new stock?

Orders are generally placed as needed, but can sometimes be expedited. If there is a certain item you are wanting to purchase, please let one of our associates know and we would be happy to provide you with a timeline for this item.

How do I know what I get is authentic?

At Ted Allen’s Jewellery, authenticity and quality craftsmanship is important to us. We stand behind the quality of our work and ensure that each piece is checked thoroughly before going home (be that online or in-store). With a certified gemologist and highly trained associates behind it’s doors, clients can rest assured that the purchases they make at Ted Allen’s Jewellery are not only beautiful, they’re valuable too.

Do you have the same items available in-store and online, and are prices the same?

Absolutely. Any item you see available online and labelled as “in stock” is also available in store. There are times, however, where you may see items listed online but as “out of stock”. In such cases you will not be able to find these items at Ted Allen’s Jewellery until our next order is received. You’ll find prices are exactly the same whether you choose to shop in store or online.

How do I care for my watch?

This is a great question, and unfortunately, one with many variables! Care for watches will vary greatly depending on the age, brand, and mechanisms of your specific watch. The best approach to caring for your watch is to ask the professionals. Feel free to contact our associates in store for a detailed breakdown of best practices for your specific items.

What is my ring size?

If you’re able to make it into our downtown Nelson location we would be happy to assess your correct ring size to ensure your next purchase is absolutely perfect. It is worth noting that certain rings, depending on material, cannot be resized and so proper assessment should be made before purchase.

I’d like to get a custom piece designed. What’s the process?

We would be happy to assist you with designing a custom piece of jewellery. The process is relatively straightforward and not too complex. Contact the store to schedule a complimentary consultation with one of our in-house designers. Our in-house designers will record all the details of the work you are wanting to complete (including timeline, budget, and specifications) as well as gather some reference imaging or sketches from you. Once this dialogue has been opened the designer will get to work creating some drafts for your work. You will likely have some back and forth over these designs for a few days. Once a final design is confirmed you will be provided with a final estimate and budgeted timeline. If you feel comfortable with what’s provided to you work will begin and before too long you’ll have an exquisite and unique piece of jewellery custom made for you.

What if I need my ring resized?

We would be happy to help you with this! Ring resizing can be a delicate procedure, but most rings can be sized with the help of a professional. At Ted Allen’s Jewellery we carry professional tools to assist us with gauging your current jewellery size, as well as the appropriate size up. Once the appropriate size has been identified we will pass your piece to our qualified on-site goldsmith to have the work completed. While we keep our goldsmith extremely busy, in most cases rings can be sized within seven to ten days.

Do you ship online purchases internationally?

At this time we are able to ship in the country of Canada only.
