Watch Purchase Incentives

Has your old watch finally bit the dust? Or, perhaps, repair will cost more than you’re hoping to spend on an older model? In either case we’re happy to offer a 20% discount on the purchase of a new watch from Ted Allen’s Jewellery with the trade in of your old watch. Old watches will be dismantled and parts recycled where possible in an effort to keep Ted Allen’s Jewellery as eco-friendly as possible.

Buying Gold

On some occasions we may be in the market to purchase high-quality used gold for fair market value. On such occasions, the gold in question will be checked and weighed and a cash offer will be presented to the owner. If you have gold that you are looking to sell it is recommended that you call ahead to ensure that we are currently buying and the right associates are available to assist you with this endeavour.

Gemstone Purchases

Whether it be for your personal collection or you’re designing the perfect custom piece, we have the ability to search high and low for the gemstone of your dreams. If you’re looking for something specific, ask us about our in-house collection.

Ring Sizing

Ring sizing can be a quick and painless procedure, and most rings can be resized one way or another. At Ted Allen’s Jewellery we use professional tools and sizers to gauge the current size of your jewellery and the most appropriate step up size. While we keep our goldsmith extremely busy, we are able to generate quick sizing work with an average turnaround time of seven to ten days.

Engraving

Engraving can transform a gift or piece of jewellery from beautiful to exquisite and meaningful. At Ted Allen’s Jewellery we are able to add engraving to a number of different items using a variety of professional techniques in a quick and efficient manner.

Jewellery Repair Work

Jewellery repair work is the bread and butter of our industry, and we’re pleased to offer fair pricing and quick turnaround for all jewellery repairs. While we do keep our on site goldsmith extremely busy, clients can generally expect completed repairs within seven to ten days though seasonal rushes may alter this timeline slightly. Feel free to ask at the time of jewellery drop off what the current wait times are like, and if times are longer than you can spare ask about our “rush service” for additional charge. The following is a list of common repairs we are happy to complete:

  • Chain repairs and soldering
  • Clasp replacement
  • Engraving
  • Earring repair - soldering posts, screw-back and post conversion, lever-back drop conversion, stone replacement
  • Polishing and Rhodium finishing
  • Pearl restringing
  • Prong and claw work - re-tipping, replacing prongs

Custom Design

Custom design is becoming more and more popular as the years progress. With custom design, our specialized in house designers are able to create a visual representation of your design ideas using a state of the art CAD (computer aided design) program. After you settle on your design choices we will be able to provide you with a detailed quote for the cost of your chosen design as well as an estimated timeline for completion. Jewellery Cleaning

The best way to keep your fine jewellery in top condition is to stay on top of cleaning and regular maintenance. At Ted Allen’s we are pleased to offer complimentary professional jewellery cleaning services using an ultrasonic cleaner, and at the same time, can review your valued items to mitigate potential future damage or lost gemstones. We also carry at home cleaning products to help keep up with the regular maintenance.

Appraisals

Appraisals are valuable for not only insurance and estate reasons, but for personal use, too. Ted Allen’s Jewellery is proud to offer appraisal services through our very own graduated gemologist. Pieces brought in for appraisal will be required to remain secured on the premises until completion with the average turnaround time being seven to ten days. In return, you will receive a detailed and thorough explanation of each valuable piece, certified and in writing.
